Terms & Conditions

Stainless Steel Countertops - Fabrication & Installation

Note: This agreement pertains specifically to the design, fabrication, and installation of stainless steel kitchen countertops. While stainless steel has many advantages, it is important to understand its limitations as well. At BAREMETALCO, we value transparency and encourage all clients to clarify any doubts before proceeding.

1. Material Characteristics & Client Information

By engaging our services, the Client acknowledges and accepts the natural characteristics of stainless steel:

  • Stainless steel is prone to surface scratches, dents, and fingerprint marks during regular use.

  • Surface rust may occur depending on the environment (especially in coastal or high-humidity areas).

  • Welding will cause visible discoloration and potential warping due to heat buildup.

  • Grind or polish marks to remove weld stains may result in slight unevenness and cannot be perfectly flat.

  • Fitment tolerance: Gaps of up to 4mm are within acceptable tolerances due to the nature of the material and on-site conditions. Slight variations in surface level due to polishing and heat-related warping are also within expected industry norms.

1.1 Stainless Steel Properties

Stainless steel is corrosion-resistant but not entirely rust-proof. Exposure to harsh cleaning chemicals, salt, moisture, or improper care may result in discoloration or rust over time.

1.2 Surface Finishes

Minor imperfections such as scratches, brush lines, or inconsistencies in finish are common and do not affect the structural performance of the product.

1.3 Client Responsibility

The Company will provide a care and cleaning guide after installation. Clients are responsible for ongoing maintenance. Please reach out if you require clarification on proper cleaning methods or product behavior.

2. Quotation & Order Confirmation

2.1. All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issuance.

2.2. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required upon job confirmation to secure materials and slot the project.

2.3. Any changes in job scope, design, or measurements after confirmation may result in additional charges and timeline adjustments.

3. Installation Terms

3.1. Site Readiness: Clients must ensure the site is accessible, prepared, and clear of obstructions. Delays caused by unprepared sites may incur additional charges.

3.2. Access & Utilities: The Client is responsible for ensuring access for delivery, installation teams, and providing necessary utilities (e.g., power, water).

3.3. On-Site Adjustments: Minor modifications may be required due to site conditions and will be handled at the discretion of the installation team.

4. Warranty

BAREMETALCO offers a 2-year warranty on structural defects such as welding cracks and failures due to poor workmanship only.

This warranty excludes:

  • Surface scratches, dents, or rust resulting from misuse, poor maintenance, accidents, or environmental exposure.

  • Cosmetic defects from normal wear and tear.

5. Payment Terms

5.1. Deposit: 50% of the total quoted amount is due upon confirmation.

5.2. Final Payment: The remaining 50% is due immediately upon installation or product collection.

5.3. Payment Deadline: Final payment must be made by the due date stated on the invoice.

5.4. Late Payment: Payments delayed more than 7 days past the invoice due date will incur interest charges of 4% per month.

6. Liability

6.1. The Company is not liable for:

  • Delays caused by third-party contractors, weather conditions, or any other factors outside of our control.

  • Damage due to misuse, improper cleaning, or negligence by the Client.

  • Variations in surface finish or minor on-site fitment issues that fall within industry-accepted tolerances.

7. Additional Works & Communication

7.1. Any additional works or items not discussed or listed in the quotation will be chargeable depending on the scope.

7.2. If there is dissatisfaction with workmanship, and both parties cannot agree on a compensation or discount, BAREMETALCO reserves the right to remove the installed work.

7.3. Only written communication (WhatsApp or email) will be accepted for changes, approvals, or confirmations. Verbal agreements are not legally binding.

8. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that region.

9. Workshop Visits & Material Awareness

Clients (including homeowners and interior designers) are strongly encouraged to visit our workshop by appointment to gain a better understanding of stainless steel’s properties. During the visit, we will explain the pros and cons of the material, and show real-life examples of installations — including natural wear and tear over time.

Visits are strictly by appointment, which can be scheduled through WhatsApp.

If the Client chooses not to attend a workshop visit, BAREMETALCO will proceed based on the assumption that the Client understands and accepts the material's characteristics and limitations as outlined in these Terms & Conditions.

BAREMETALCO will not be held responsible for dissatisfaction arising from a lack of awareness due to the Client's decision to decline this optional visit.

10. Site Clean-Up

BAREMETALCO will perform a basic clean-up of the work area post-installation. Removal of construction debris, off-cuts, or packaging is the responsibility of the Client unless otherwise agreed in writing.

11. Completion & Acceptance

Upon installation or product collection, the Client (or their appointed representative) will inspect the work. Any concerns must be raised within 2 days of completion. If no concerns are raised within this period, the project will be deemed accepted, and any subsequent changes or claims may be chargeable.
